Ownership: 1 month to 1 year
Pros: After 6 months nothing, no led light nothing just dead.
Cons: Do not recommend.
Overall Review: Do not buy the “i” series.
Ownership: more than 1 year
Pros: Pretty quiet and came with all parts and attachments as advertised
Cons: My PSU failed after 2 years.
Currently working with Corsair support to get it replaced. Still waiting to hear back from their end.
I have to admit, for a $300 plus product, I expected better (I mean my $50 Antec never died on me).
This, after my Corsair cooler died as well. Slowly losing my faith in this brand.
The final review will depend on to what extent Corsair assist me with the RMA.

Pros: quiet
Cons: First one worked about one and half year, then died.
Corsair customer service sent me another one, it broke in 2 days.

Overall Review: Manufacturing quality has some serious problem. I believe corsair is using second class components, such as Capacitor.
Ownership: 1 week to 1 month
Pros: Lots of power for any build
Has a USB connection for use with iCue software
Has a silent 'fan off' mode
Long, but fits in most cases

Cons: Not compatible with Corsair individually sleeved cabling (really Corsair? Why not?) Everything was ok except for the ATX connection. Minus 1 egg for this.

Pros: So I have a ax1600i in another computer. The ax1600i is hands down the best PSU I have ever used. So when it was time to upgrade a 1200 watt PSU in my personal computer I of course thought how much I loved my ax1600i.
I love the power management software and the efficiency. so I thought I would get the 1200 watt version for my personal computer. what a mistake that was
I love the power management software and the efficiency. so I thought I would get the 1200 watt version for my personal computer. what a mistake that was
Cons: So as stated in my pros I have the ax1600i, so I was expecting the same quality build and individual sleave cables and all the same features of its 1600 watt big brother.
boyo was I wrong.
- first my unboxing was disappointing, as the cables were cheaper, on the plus I was able to use the leftover cables from my ax1600i for my build.
- 2nd after I swapped out my aging EVGA NEX1500 (the first digital power supply) I turned on my computer for the first time, heard a pop and smelled smoke. At first I didn' t="" see="" anything="" wrong="" so="" thought="" a="" bug="" got="" in="" a="" light="" bulb="" or="" something.="" so="" i="" turned="" it="" back="" and="" i="" noticed="" i="" didn't="" see="" any="" of="" my="" hard="" drives.="" just="" my="" m.2="" ssd="" my="" os="" is="" on.="" so="" i="" thought="" maybe="" i="" have="" the="" cables="" lose.="">
when they didn't I got scared. then I tried a old laptop harddrive laying in the parts pile. I plugged it in to the power supply with a different cable, and BAM, I saw the PCB of the HHD start to burn and glow bright. I then took all 7 of my hard drives out of my PC and tested them all individually on a external USB dock.. not a single one spun up. they were all dead.
- part 3 - I contacted corsair and after a long drawn out 2 months of me submitting data and tickets and serial numbers. They finally approved the RMA and damage claim. The sent me a new ax1200i that I did not trust to even try so as I was beyond my 30 days to return on Newegg I sold it online. they did give me enough money to replace the capacity of the hard drives I lost, as they wanting me to send them to them so they could verify… note they did not send them back, so I have some concerns that my data is out there as the disk themselves are still good but just the pcbs were burned out.
I fortunately had about 90% of my data backed up, between my server (the pc the ax1600i is on) and my OneDrive I still did lose some data and videos I have made that I can not recover. some were uploaded to YouTube so they still exist. I did request data recovery but corsair refused. I do believe they should have as it was determined by their own techs that the PSU did fry all the hard-drives.

Overall Review: I cannot recommend this PSU and the poor customer support and willingness to accept the due responsibility.
I had such high hopes and was planning on building a new pc with all corsair parts, this was supposed to be the start of that. Now I will likely never buy a Corsair product again and cannot recommend. Not just because of the PSU failure. I understand that faulty parts happen in mass production. accidents happen. No, I cannot recommend them because they utterly failed to want to accept full responsibility for this issue. I as I sought out forums, even on corsairs forums this is not the first time this has happened.

Buy EVGA instead. Support is absolutely horrible. Unit died after a few months.7/26/2018 11:43:35 AM
Pros: Worked for 5 months.
Cons: Unreliable. Support is terrible.
Overall Review: Built a system in January and it died in May. Called support and they said they will replace with the same unit or better. Then tried to pawn off a cheaper power supply. In a few days it will be two months since my PSU died and I still have no refund. Stay far away from this company. Their support takes days to respond to each request, and they have a DGAF attitude. They could care less. I've never dealt with a company with support this bad.![Review Review](/uploads/1/2/3/7/123777945/617633901.jpg)

Pros: Very modular with lots of removable cords and places to plug them in.
Cons: Failed within 18 months. Computer would flicker and then shut off randomly, increasingly over a month until unusable. Narrowed it down to this after the problem disappeared when I put in a new PSU.
Overall Review: No point spending premium money on a device that doesn't have premium dependability. Go for one of the lesser levels of Corsair PSU or another brand.

Page 5 [Corsair Link Hardware and Software]
Aside from the DSP, the other big feature of the AX1200i is the inclusion of Corsair Link to monitor and control the power supply. The Corsair Link Dashboard software is designed to allow you to monitor and control all aspects of your computer and can be connected directly to other pieces of Corsair Hardware inside your case such as the H80 cooler or the new Dominator Platinum DDR3 memory kits.
Â
Â
Since we are just using the Corsair Link software to monitor the power supply for now, we can use the included USB dongle to connect to the power supply. If you're using more than one device, you might want to look into utilizing the Corsair Link Commander which allows multiple devices to be connected to it.
Â
Â
Installation of the dongle was as simple as plugging it into an open USB header on the motherboard. Drivers were automatically installed. After downloading and installing the latest version of the Corsair Link Dashboard software, we gave the computer a reboot and were ready to go.
Â
Â
Upon launching the software, we are given a blank slate to start defining our layout and configuration.
Â
Â
You can select from several different cases so that it matches your system. In the event that you don't have one of the preloaded cases, you can upload a custom image for the software to use.
Â
Â
Corsair Ax Series Av860i
Out of the box it picks up several temperatures right away. As you can see, it is monitors the current CPU and GPU as well as the SSD. You can create groups as well in the event that you have multiple items installed or want to monitor a specific area of the case. This is nice if you have multiples of the same type of hardware, say video cards or processors, so that they can been seen simultaneously.
Â
Â
If you prefer to monitor things over time you can go to the graph mode and see this as well.
Â
Â
There are several options to configure, including whether you want to display temps in Celsius or Fahrenheit, skin color and mail options for alerts.
Â
Â
Adding in the AX1200i to the monitor increases the graphs for you to look at.
Â
Â
Once the AX1200i is available, there is a new tab at the top for power. This will give you full monitoring over the power supply including efficiency, power usage, voltages, amperages on each rail and more.
Â
Â
The window scales quite well when stretched out. Here we have also enable the OCP on all of the PCI-E rails even though no power is being drawn from them.
Â
Â
You can even open different panels on the left while you are making changes to continue monitoring your system. All in all, Corsair has done a great job with the Corsair Link Dashboard software. When utilizing several of Corsair's products in a single system, you can quickly and easily achieve a vast amount of monitoring and customization that was previously unavailable without a substantial amount of custom modding.

Accurate and clean power machine.2/23/2019 4:55:54 PM
Pros: * So, this power supply unit is manufactured by Seasonic and branded by Corsair. Seasonic is a top PSU builder that has been around since 1975 while Corsair, a top PC parts supplier has been around since 1994. These two partnered up and made the Corsair AX1000 power supply. Seasonic is constantly being rated as building the best PSUs while Corsair is always being touted for supplying the best PC components. Brand wise, you can’t go wrong here!
* Lots and lots of clean, steady power. This unit supplies tight load regulations, amazing ripple suppression, and efficiency levels to awe over (Titanium class). Transient response is among the best available. I don’t have the equipment to test this myself, but after lots of research on this unit, this is what I’ve learned. Everyone loves this unit.
* Excellent build quality on a modular platform, with sleeved cables, I had no problems installing it with the exception of one thing listed in the cons section below.
* At maximum power output, I could definitely hear the internal fan blowing if I stuck my ear up by the unit, but it was being overpowered by the sound of all my other fans blowing so that’s pretty much a non-issue. One thing to note is that the fan doesn’t even start to spin until after 30% power output is achieved and it’s a variable speed as needed, so there are really no noise issues at all here.
* Connections, lots of connections. There are four SATA cables with four connectors on each giving you the ability to connect up to sixteen SATA devices to this PSU. There are also eight Four-pin Molex connectors and eight 6+2 pin PCIe connectors. I have a lot of stuff in my system, but not this much stuff. I’m glad it’s available though should I want to stick more drives in there or something.

Cons: * The case I’m using is the full-sized Cooler Master HAF-X tower. I like to run my cables as far out of the way and as hidden as I can get them, and this means I need lots of cable length so I can run around corners and the far edges of the case. I had a problem doing this when connecting my DVD player (in the very top front of the case) to the PSU, which is mounted in the bottom rear of the case. The cables weren’t long enough to route them where I wanted so I had to mount the DVD player down one spot. The cables aren’t short by any means, but in some cases, then can be a little shy of reaching that far away component.
* The one other issue I ran into was that my system would keep randomly power cycling. After hours of frustration and troubleshooting I found a loose connection between one of the 24-pin ATX wires. Even the slightest wiggle would cause a short and power cycle everything. I discovered that if I zip tied the connector so that it was being raised upwards, it applied pressure to the pin and this keeps it in sufficient contact to prevent the shorting from happening. Bummer.

Overall Review: Simply stated, this is the best performing ATX power supply I’ve ever used. I have an older PC I tested this in, which include 2 Nvidia GTX 480 graphics cards in SLI (800 watts under load right there), seven chassis fans, most with LED lighting,6 platter drives (4 in RAID) and two SSD drives, 2 DVD/Blue Ray drives, external case lighting, 3 external USB attachments powered through the USB output, all on an Intel 930 CPU overclocked and overvolted to 4.0GHz. This power supply ran all of that without a hiccup. Connected to my battery backup unit while running both CPU and GPU stress tests (FurMark), I measured a 1090 watt peak draw from the unit. Wow. Sure, I was nervous but after 10 minutes with the AX1000 fan blowing hard, I brought the system back to idle with no consequences. I’m impressed. I thought for sure I’d trip it. That all said, you will be hard pressed to approach a 1000 watt power draw with newer, more efficient hardware these days. Good job Corsair! I’m excited to use this new PSU in my next PC build and would wholeheartedly recommend this unit.

Overall Review: It is easy to say the price of the unit is a con, but this is a highly rated PSU and that does not come cheap. I have previously gone with “good enough” PSU’s in the past, but always wondered if the Gold and Titanium rated PSU’s were worth it. Now I know, they are worth it.
It is hard to quantify because no benchmark seems to support this, but my system feels more stable and responsive. My previous PSU was old, so was it not capable of delivering a steady supply like this one?
What I am sure of is this: had I purchased this unit instead of receiving it as a review unit, I would have been happy with my purchase and felt the money was well spent. Being fully modular is a huge bonus, my previous PSU was partially modular and I had trouble running the cords as I would have liked. The silent operation is a bigger bonus that I thought it would be.
Do not skimp on the Power Supply for your build. Use a PSU calculator and buy a high-quality PSU that can deliver constant power and accommodate your build. The AX1000 from Corsair is a beast and worth the investment!

Pros: Fully Modular and Silent. It’s incredibly quiet without having the ‘Zero RPM Mode’ and it’s truly silent when the ‘Zero RPM Mode’ is engaged. I’ve been a modular power supply guy for years and this offering from Corsair offers a great selection of connectors to power up your rig exactly the way you need. I personally think it’s a HUGE bonus to have modular power supplies in your system. It’s so much easier to cable when you don’t have a big wad of ‘extra’ cables to work around in your case. It also helps with air flow and dust reduction tremendously.
Cons: Cost. This is an expensive power supply, but if your looking for a power supply of this size, spend the bucks and get this one. It’s full featured, silent, powerful and awesome.
Overall Review: I use this power supply in my Dual CPU Xeon Server running Hyper-V. Most folks will probably look at a power supply like this for gaming but it’s also ideal for powering a server. When you build servers without redundant power supplies it is super important to have a quality unit – Corsair has never let me down. I’ve got several other corsairs in my machines I personally use for my business, the oldest being 6 years, and they have all run 24/7 without hiccup. This one, the AX1000, is now in my main ‘Big Daddy’ server which has 12 spindle drives, 4 SSD’s, and runs Hyper-V to host about 12 machines. The additional power provided by this power supply actually improved the responsiveness in all tasks on the server. I was surprised by this, but I suspect my old power supply I was running wasn’t truly up to the task despite the rating listed on the side.
The AX1000 also includes several logo badges in different colors for those who want a ‘pretty’ presentation with a clear windowed case or what not. It also has a great little bag to keep all those ‘extra’ modular cables safe.
It’s a WIN!

Pros: Fully modular. I never cared about the 24-pin being modular, but I suppose it is helpful to some people.
Silent operation with low and medium loads. Noise isn' t="" an="" issue="" since="" i="" have="" a="" silent="" pc="" case="" to="" begin="" with,="" but="" i'm="" sure="" this="" is="" a="" pro="" for="" the="" people="" who="" don't.="">
10 year warranty. This right here should be really pulling you in.
Corsair renowned support. I always look into the support of a company before making a purchase because what is the point of a warranty or support of the company is no good in providing either. I've used Corsair support for the Corsair M65 mouse and it was very smooth and fast. EVGA for example took 2 weeks to get me a fresh video card where as Corsair got me a replacement mouse in 3 days with cross shipping. I wish Corsair made video cards! I have a backup mouse that I was able to game with but going 2 weeks without my computer was a total drag when my video card was having issues. Quick support is just too important and Corsair delivers.
Competitively priced for a 80+ Titanium power supply. This is one reason I love looking at Corsair products. Corsair is always competitive with their prices in my experience. You don't need to pay a premium price for the premium brand.
Insane power! Seriously, this thing can power two 2080 ti and still have gas left in the tank for overclocking.![Corsair Ax 1000 Review Corsair Ax 1000 Review](https://www.techpowerup.com/reviews/Corsair/AX1000/images/cable8.jpg)

Seriously, this thing can power two 2080 ti and still have gas left in the tank for overclocking.
Cons: While this is priced nicely for a titanium 80+ power supply. There are higher wattage power supplies with a lower 80+ rating (gold, platinum) for a lower price. I'm not too sure what the market is for a 1000w power supply for around 279 MSRP compared to 1200w - 1500w power supplies with a lower 80+ rating and similar or cheaper in price.
Overall Review: Power supplies are the most important component of any computer build. I have learned a long time ago that not all psu watt rating are equal. High quality power supplies might seem expensive, but if you ever had one fail and take out your mainboard or gpu, then you know what expensive is. The Corsair AX1000 is everything anyone would expect from a high quality, enthusiast class, power supply. Solid Japanese capacitors are the gold standard, I've had a cheap power supply with a capacitor popping and taking out my mainboard. So, I learned my lesson real early on. My go to recommendations are normally Antec and Corsair when I do custom builds for people, and I have to stress to them at how important a quality power supply really is. Your computer is not going to do anything spectacular when the power supply releases the magic smoke. The very long warranties that Corsair offers really makes it hard to justify not buying their product either way. It becomes a point where you cannot afford not to buy it. 10 years -- can you think which component in your computer right now was the same from 10 years ago?

Introduction
Time flies when you're having fun, and while there is a lot of effort and hard work that goes on in the background to provide our viewers with the quality content that they demand, it is fair to say that we have a lot of fun doing our jobs here at TweakTown. That also means that the time flies by and what seems like was just a month or two ago can be quite a bit longer than that.
This is exactly what has happened here as it feels like Corsair delivered us the AX1200i just a few short months ago. We praised the unit time and time again, not only in our review but to friends, family, coworkers, and numerous others. It's become one of the top units amongst enthusiasts, overclockers, system builders, and many more. Most of us at TweakTown have at least one of these power supplies in use with our test systems and some even have a spare just because it comes in very handy. It does everything you can ask of a power supply and does so with excellence.
As with everything related to technology, what was once the king of the hill is surely to be yesterday's news within a few years' time. The AX1200i is something that we felt to be a little different as we even labeled it as a unit that 'defines a new bar for what it means to be an enthusiast level power supply.' Corsair has been very hard at work seeking to outdo themselves, and the AX1500i that we are covering today has a very solid chance to do just that.
Many may think that the AX1500i is simply a higher wattage version of what they already had, but that couldn't be further from the truth. Corsair still utilizes Flextronics as their OEM for the unit, but almost everything is elevated to the next level. While there is most certainly a significant increase in power output, there is also a nice boost in efficiency, increased cabling to make use of this power, integration of the Corsair Link dongle, and more. If you're a true enthusiast, then this should be more than enough to make you want to know more. Let's start digging into this unit and see what it has to offer.
Specifications, Availability and Pricing
I/O specifications have changed very little for the AX1500i when compared to the AX1200i. 12V power is increased and now up to 125A, which can be delivered over a single rail or split upon multiple rails with custom OCP points via their software. Both the 3.3V and 5V minor rails are rated for 30A each with a combined maximum output of 180W. The 5VSB rail remains the same as well with 3.5A of power available. Maximum combined output of the Corsair AX1500i is 1500W.
We would be sadly disappointed if Corsair didn't give us all the features that we check for right out of the box. Protections are plentiful with SCP, OVP, OCP, OPP, and OTP all present. All of the cables for the AX1500i are fully modular and are of the flat ribbon type. The power supply is rated for 100 percent continuous power at 50C as this unit is meant to be tortured from start to finish. The AX1500i is rated for 80 PLUS Titanium efficiency, which is something new for the TweakTown test bench. Up until now, Titanium efficiency has been very hard for manufacturers to achieve with 115V.

The AX1500i is a fully digital power supply. This allows for the unit to make adjustments on-the-fly and increase efficiency. It also integrates with the Corsair Link software for real-time monitoring and more. We will cover more on this soon as we are currently working on putting together a new test system specifically designed to show what all you can do with digital power supplies and their associated software.
Corsair has an MSRP of $449 for the AX1500i. There's no way to sugar coat this, and Corsair is quite proud of what they've brought to the market, but you can't race a Lamborghini with a Corolla either. If you want and need the best, you're going to have to be prepared to spend some money. At the very least, you know that you are covered for years to come. Corsair will stand behind the AX1500i with their industry leading 7-year warranty.
